This isn't about promises of overnight mastery, or “just do this ONE thing”. There are no shortcuts to growing skills.
This is a gentle path to building genuine skill through compassionate, patient practice - one wild being, one page, one pencil stroke at a time.
Just like learning to walk, we have to fall a few times, start a bit wobbly, but before long, with determination (and that wild heart of yours), you will be drawing like you have been doing this your whole life.
You will grow your skills, but you will also grow a life-long practice that gives you joy, curiosity, and wonder (and I think we can all use some of that!)
Being part of DTW was a life changing and affirming experience for me in every way. It allowed me to claim more deeply and profoundly my birth right as an artist. Each single-coloured-pencil lesson takes 45–60 minutes, the more finished graphite drawings anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. This is a fully self-paced course — go through all 63 tutorials in a couple of months or across several years, in whatever order calls to you. There's no schedule to keep up with and no penalty for taking your time.

Realistic wildlife drawing isn't about talent — it's about observation and practice. Plenty of students who started Drawn to Wild believing they "couldn't draw a straight line" now have a sketchbooks full of wild beings to prove otherwise.
