You don’t need more time.
You need somewhere
to begin.
A free guide from wildlife artist Natalie Eslick
Wild Ways to Awaken Your Inner Artist: five gentle practices to help you
make art with curiosity, attention and wonder, and begin drawing the
wild beings who call to you.
Maybe this is you?
Maybe you’ve always felt more at home watching birds than scrolling social media.
Maybe you find yourself wishing you could capture their spirit on paper.
Maybe you’re longing for something more meaningful than the everyday rush.
For years I thought I needed more time, a proper studio and a better idea of what I was doing before I was allowed to make art.
What I actually needed was somewhere to return to.
This little guide is everything I wish someone had gifted me with at the start.
Inside the guide
Begin by returning. Why 15 minutes, with paper balanced on your knee, really is enough.
Somewhere for your creativity to live. Making your sketchbook a place to meet yourself, not prove yourself.
Follow a thread. Letting one animal, or one tiny detail, take you deeper.
Let curiosity lead. Swapping “why can’t I draw this?” for “I wonder what I’m actually looking at?”
Let the practice be enough. Making a page the way a bird sings: for the joy of it.
Each comes with a small “Try this” practice and a Wonder|Wander question to sit with.
About Natalie
I’m Natalie, a wildlife artist and creative guide on Australia’s east coast.
For over a decade I’ve been drawing and painting the wild beings who call to my soul, mostly inside sketchbooks (there are more than, ahem, thirty on my shelf that are currently in use!).
I believe women need the wild, and the wild needs women who create.
The wild ways are calling. Will you follow?
