ABOUT THIS PIECE

Owls in flight are a beauty to behold - nature’s perfection on full display. Specialist feathers on display, as they silently glide past, ear tufts flat to the sides of her head, utterly spectacular. Graphite is my first love and getting to study such magic in this simple but powerful medium is such an honour.

The name of this piece was inspired by the poetry of Mary Oliver, who wrote many words about owls, their at once mysterious and wholly grounded nature, and connection to all facets of the web of life.
